Description
The Akyga® AK-SC-E25 Type 2 socket is a male connector designed for electric vehicle (EV) charging systems. It is suitable for building extension cables for buildings as well as replacing worn or damaged sockets in existing devices such as charging stations (EVSE) or wallboxes. Thanks to its design, it is a reliable component in home and semi-professional charging equipment.
Type 2 – Socket compliant with the European EV charging standard
The Type 2 connector is currently the most common standard for charging electric cars in Europe. The Akyga AK-SC-E25 AC charging socket has been designed in accordance with the applicable standards, ensuring full compatibility with most electric and plug-in hybrid cars available on the market. This guarantees a safe and stable connection during every charging session.
Type 2 plug – Safe use with alternating current
The EV charging socket operates in single-phase mode with a maximum charging current of 32 A. These parameters allow for fast and efficient charging of electric vehicles without the risk of overheating or overloading the equipment. The robust design and high-quality materials used in production ensure long-term reliability.
Type 2 socket resistant to outdoor conditions
The AK-SC-E25 Type 2 charging socket has an IP44 protection rating, which means it is resistant to splashing water and dust – it can be successfully installed both inside and outside buildings. The socket is equipped with a screw-on protective cover that protects the contacts from dust, moisture, and other external factors when not in use. This ensures that the entire structure remains highly durable and reliable for a long time.
Note – Type 2 socket is not a substitute for an electric vehicle charger
It is important to note that the Akyga AK-SC-E25 Type 2 socket does not function as a charger. Simply connecting it to a power source will not allow for direct charging of an electric car. To carry out the charging process properly and safely, it is necessary to use a specialized device – an EVSE charger or a wallbox – that regulates charging parameters and ensures proper communication with the vehicle. The connector serves only as a connecting element in a complete charging setup.
