Tiandy instead of Hikvision or Dahua: model pairs and first setup

13 Sept 2026BYB

Enter the Hikvision or Dahua part number in the model finder. Next to the Tiandy counterpart named by the manufacturer you also see the current price. Compare the two datasheets before installing.

Which model replaces which

Tiandy publishes its own comparison tables, which name its own model for each Hikvision and Dahua model. We have loaded this table into the shop.

Type the part number as it appears on your order: hyphens, spaces and upper or lower case do not matter.

For recorders: compare a PoE model with a PoE model. The price of a basic model without PoE cannot be compared with that of a PoE recorder.

As a reseller you see a lower price. The net price level is shown on the product page after you sign in. Apply as a reseller!

What the table gives you is the manufacturer's own classification, not our opinion. A pairing is a starting point. Before ordering, check the data sheets of both models, especially night imaging, ingress protection and event handling.

Whether the two models share the same hardware we cannot confirm: neither manufacturer publishes sensor or chip data for these models.

Five things that work differently

Check these five points at the first installation.

The device discovery tool is different. Tiandy's device discovery tool is SearchConfig Tool. It is free and can be downloaded without signing in. It finds the devices on the network, sets IP addresses and initialises passwords; it also handles batch activation and batch password reset.

Do not type the factory IP address from memory. The exact address is given in the recorder's and the camera's manual, model by model. Check it before the first connection.

Over ONVIF, events have to be checked separately. If you put the camera on another manufacturer's recorder, or the other way round, video usually comes through over ONVIF. Whether motion events and smart events come through as well depends on support in the camera, the recorder, the firmware and the specific function. In a mixed system, test this on the actual pairing before you promise it to the customer. What to check over ONVIF

The management software is different. Easy7 VMS on the desktop, EasyLive Plus on the phone. Both are public and free.

Firmware and manuals are public. They can be downloaded from the manufacturer's help site, without registration, by searching for the model.

What we do commit to

We answer in writing. By email or through the message form on the site. Not a phone hotline, but an answer you can look up later.

Replacement or refund, not inspection. Up to a gross purchase price of HUF 250,000 we replace a faulty product, or refund its price, within the warranty period. We do not inspect it, we do not repair it, and we do not pass it on to the manufacturer. Above HUF 250,000 the manufacturer’s repair or replacement route applies, but we handle it for you: writing to us is enough. This undertaking does not limit your statutory rights.

If an item is not in stock, we order it in for you, and after that we keep local stock of it for your further purchases.

We show quantities, not labels. The product page shows how many units there are, and when more are expected if there are none.

You see net prices when you sign in. On invoice, at your reseller price level.

How to start

With one camera. Order one of the type you install most often, mount it at a site of your own, and look at it at night.

If you cannot find the model number in the search, write to us. We will check whether we offer an alternative for it and get back to you.

Any questions?

Write to us and we will reply in writing.
