Condominium camera systems in 2026: security, regulations and turnkey installation

Protecting condominiums and residential parks is a special challenge. Preventing vandalism, theft and illegal dumping in stairwells, underground car parks and around waste storage areas requires professional technology. DIY-store kits made for home use are not a solution here.
BYB and its installation partner Primetech Solutions take on the design of condominium surveillance systems, the supply of compliant equipment and professional installation as a single, transparent service.
The three pillars of condominium surveillance
In a residential community project the system has to be not only stable but also meet strict data protection and physical requirements.
1. Legal compliance and data security (GDPR)
Operating condominium camera systems is subject to strict rules. Not just anyone may access the recordings, and the system has to be run on a closed, secure network.
The solution: the Tiandy network video recorders (NVR) have advanced access control. Recordings are stored password-protected and encrypted, in a closed system, on the built-in WD Purple surveillance hard drives. This ensures that if the authorities request it, the evidence is available intact, while unauthorised persons cannot access it.
2. Usable images in poor light
In underground car parks, entrances and dark corridors, motion-activated lights often switch on late, and conventional infrared cameras only record blurred, black-and-white silhouettes.
The solution: the Tiandy Color Maker IP cameras record sharp colour footage even in minimal light. In an incident, a colour image, for example the colour of clothing or a car, can be decisive evidence.
3. Tidy, vandal-resistant cabling
In existing buildings the cable routing is a critical point. Residents do not want to see cables running along the walls or unprofessional trunking in a freshly painted stairwell.
The solution: our installation partner Primetech Solutions uses the existing service shafts and concealed routes. The backbone of the network is formed by high-quality UTP/FTP cables which provide stable power (PoE) and data transfer without spoiling the look of the building.
